Principle of operation

Horizontal disc dryer is an efficient conductive continuous drying equipment. Its unique structure and working principle determine that it has the characteristics of high thermal efficiency, low energy consumption, small floor space, simple configuration, convenient operation and control, and good operating environment, and is especially suitable for drying materials with large capacity and high evaporation intensity.

Horizontal disc dryer adopts indirect heating mode of heat conduction, which is mainly composed of cylinder, hot shaft, transmission system and rotary joint. The barrel adopts jacket structure, and the heating shaft adopts single-axis disc structure. The heating medium heats the materials in the shell through the double sides of the disc and the inner side of the jacket. In the closed drying chamber, the hot shaft with a disk rotates slowly, steam enters from one end of the hollow shaft of the rotor as a heat medium, and heat is transferred to the material through the rotating disk, and the material absorbs heat outside the disk to continuously evaporate moisture, and the condensed water is discharged from the other end of the rotor. The periphery of he hot shaft is equipped with a propeller blade with a certain inclination angle. With the rotation, on the one hand, the material is constantly scraped and stirred to make it contact with the metal heat exchange surface, on the other hand, the material is pushed from the inlet side to the outlet side. The discharge end is provided with an overflow plate to adjust the height of the material level, which can meet the production needs of materials with different humidity and realize multi-purpose of one machine.


Performance characteristics

◎ In the disc dryer, the flow channel in the hot shaft is special and cleverly designed, and it is the main heat transfer area. The disc transfers heat on both sides, so the heat transfer area is large (accounting for 80%~85% of the total heat transfer area), with compact structure, small overall size and high thermal efficiency;

◎ In the disc dryer, due to the extrusion and relaxation during the mixing process of the discs and blades, the materials between the discs are constantly turned over, the heating surfaces of the discs are constantly updated, and the heat exchange is uniform;

◎ Low-grade saturated steam can be used as heat transfer medium, with low operating cost;

◎ In the disc dryer, the hot shaft belongs to the low-speed stirring type equipment, and the abrasion of the disc surface is small;

◎ In the disc dryer, the material retention rate is high, and the residence time can be arbitrarily selected from 30min to several hours;

◎ Small system load, high reliability, good continuous operation and long-term continuous operation;

◎ Low temperature and dust during operation, and good system safety;

◎ Less auxiliary equipment and simple system;

◎ Set carrier gas supply port, which requires less auxiliary air and small tail gas treatment device;
