Principle of operation
Drum dryer is a kind of continuous rotating drying equipment with internal heating and conduction. The rotating drum passes through its lower trough and adheres to a material film with a thickness. The heat is transported to the inner wall of the drum through the pipeline, conducted to the outer wall of the drum, and then conducted to the feeding film, so that the moisture in the material film can be evaporated and dehumidified, and the materials containing moisture can be dried. The dried materials are shoveled off the drum by the scraper installed on the surface of the drum and sent to the screw conveyor under the scraper, and the dry materials are concentrated and packaged by the screw conveyor.
Performance characteristics
◎ High thermal efficiency. Because the heat transfer mechanism of the drum dryer belongs to heat conduction, the heat transfer direction is consistent in the whole operation cycle, except for the heat dissipation and heat radiation loss of the cover, all the rest heat is used for evaporation of the moisture content of the drum film, and the thermal efficiency can reach 70%-80%.
◎ Large operation flexibility and wide applicability. Many drying factors of drum dryer can be adjusted. For example, the concentration of feed, the thickness of coating film, the temperature of heating medium and the rotating speed of drum can all change the drying efficiency of drum dryer, and many factors are not involved with each other. This brings great convenience to the drum drying operation, which can adapt to the drying of various materials and the requirements of different output.
◎ Short drying time. The drying cycle of materials is generally only 10-300 seconds, which is suitable for heat-sensitive materials. If the drum dryer is set in a vacuum, it can be operated under reduced pressure.
◎ High drying rate. Because the film coated on the cylinder wall is very thin, generally 0.3-1.5mm, and the heat and mass transfer directions are the same, the evaporation intensity of the film surface can be maintained at 20-70 kg H2O/m2 h..
